Open Source License

The E3SM project fully realizes and embraces the importance of making the model source, the data and the analysis software tools publicly available. The project is committed to providing the documentation and limited support, as well as to communicating and informing the scientific community and the public about all stages of the project, its research and the future plans (check Newsletter Archive).

The E3SM model became open development at the time of first model and data release, in April 2018.

E3SM uses a BSD 3-clause license.  See the code’s LICENSE file.
