ARM Diagnostics
One of the methods to evaluate a climate or weather model is to compare it to observations. The Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) user facility is a multi-laboratory, U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) scientific user facility, that has provided continuous observations of clouds, aerosol properties and other measurements for more nearly 30 years.
The ARM diagnostic package has been developed with BER funding to the ARM project.
ARM diagnostic use for E3SM
E3SM is leveraging ARM’s effort in developing the ARM Diagnostic Package for use in climate model evaluation.
