Jennifer Holm New Deputy Group Leader for BGC Group
Dr. Jennifer A. Holm from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory has joined the E3SM Leadership as a Deputy Group Leader for the Biogeochemistry (BGC) Group. In this role she will help coordinate the BGC model developments and simulation campaign, with a particular focus on the land model and its interactions with other components. This will leverage and complement her existing work with the FATES demographic vegetation model, funded as an E3SM Next Generation Development and by the National Science Foundation, as well as DOE’s NGEE-Tropics project.
Jennifer brings extensive land model development and diagnostic experience to the E3SM BGC Group. She specializes in forest disturbance and recovery processes, dynamic vegetation processes, model sensitivity and uncertainty, and understanding the response of tropical and boreal forests to changing climates. Jennifer received a B.S. in Environmental Studies from Emory University, an M.S. in interdisciplinary ecology from the University of Florida, and a Ph.D. in environmental sciences from the University of Virginia.
