Farewell to Cristiana Stan

Dr. Cristiana Stan, Associate Professor at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

The E3SM project was fortunate to have Dr. Cristiana Stan with us via an Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) assignment between the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Earth and Environmental System Modeling (EESM) program and George Mason University (GMU) from August 2020 to January 2021.

Cristiana was working across the three EESM program areas (ESMD, RGMA and MSD) and has been a great addition to the E3SM Communication Team, assisting with the newsletters. Special thanks are also extended to her for her role in planning and executing the ESMD-E3SM PI meeting in October 2020 and subsequent help editing the Meeting Report.

We thank Cristiana for her lasting contributions as she returns to George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, where she is working as an associate professor focusing on large-scale dynamics and predictability of tropical variability in climate modeling research.
