E3SM Makes 2026 Group Roadmaps Public
For the first time, E3SM has made its group roadmaps publicly available on the project website. Previously shared on the internal site, these roadmaps are now accessible to the broader research community to provide greater visibility into E3SM’s scientific direction, priorities, and planned activities for 2026.
The new 2026 Roadmaps page is intended to help other projects, especially Department of Energy (DOE) BER-funded projects, better understand where E3SM is headed and where opportunities for alignment and collaboration may exist. By sharing these roadmaps publicly, E3SM aims to make it easier for partners and related efforts to engage with the project’s evolving plans, including its growing focus on S2D prediction, artificial intelligence, and energy and water applications.
The page brings together the 2026 roadmaps for all E3SM groups in one place and includes the project’s updated organizational structure.
Explore the new page to see how E3SM groups are planning for 2026 and how their work supports the project’s next phase.
