2026 Roadmaps
In 2026, E3SM is sharpening its focus on S2D prediction, AI-enabled capabilities, and energy and water applications as the project prepares for its next phase. To support this pivot, E3SM has updated its organizational structure and introduced two pilot groups, S2D Prediction and Artificial Intelligence.
Figure 1 shows the current E3SM organizational structure, followed by roadmap materials for each group.
